TLC was born out of a personal allergy to silicone. In our search for safe alternatives, we were struck by the surprising scarcity of options and the concerning findings in the market highlighting a clear need for better, safer intimate care products.
LIKE MANY OTHER PRODUCTS
Similar to deodorants, soaps, intimate washes and sunscreens, most intimate products prioritize profits over people, often at the expense of health. Consumers deserve safer, smarter, science-backed options that support sexual wellness. Silicone is a “forever” chemical that can remain in the body, potentially disrupting hormones, irritating sensitive tissues, and contributing to risks associated with erectile dysfunction. Additionally, many so-called “healthy” lubricants rely on harsh or misleadingly natural ingredients – such as vitamin E, coconut oil, and aloe – that may harm delicate mucous membranes, trap bacteria, and increase the risk of infections. These ingredients don’t create a safe or effective lubricant that lets you truly enjoy intimacy.

Sexual wellness remains one of the most under-researched areas in health. Limited studies on product safety, long-term effects, and overall sexual well-being leave consumers vulnerable, unprotected, and underserved. The industry remains significantly behind, with limited access to research facilities necessary for rigorous and essential testing, highlighting a critical void in our domestic sexual health infrastructure.
